Réginal Théodore Bien-Aimé, jeune haïtien de 24 ans, veut devenir chercheur-développeur en génie alimentaire. Accepté à une Université de la Guadeloupe et ayant la garantie du support financier de Thierry Larrous, un mécène guadeloupéen que lui avait proposé l'épiscopat de Guadeloupe, il se lance actuellement dans un combat musclé contre le consulat de France en Haïti qui, selon lui, veut se mettre au travers de son rêve en lui refusant le visa étudiant.  Après son refus, l'Université lui avait délivré une attestation pour une entrée décalée en janvier 2018. L'institution universitaire lui a transmis plusieurs autres documents dans le cadre de ses actions devant notamment le tribunal administratif de Nantes. Le maire Tony Vernio, est mort, ce mardi 22 mai 2018, dans un accident survenu dans la Commune de Port-de-Paix. L’élu se trouvait à bord d’un tracteur et s’apprêtait à se rendre à Trois Rivières pour des travaux de nettoyage.
