How much can you save with the cheapest auto insurance providers in North Dakota? The most expensive insurer in our analysis (Dairyland) returned quotes as much as $3,131 for a year of coverage from our benchmark drivers - roughly 2.5x the cost. Other expensive companies quoted for less than Dairyland, but were still 13 to 30% higher than the North Dakota benchmark cost. They were Liberty Mutual ($1,630), North Star ($1,473) and MetLife ($1,414).

There is one specialty insurer on the list, and that is USAA. The United States Automobile Association only offers coverage to affiliated military members and their families. On the other hand, note that in North Dakoda motorists can get AAA (fifth cheapest ND insurer on the list) coverage without being an AAA member (which is sometimes required in other states.) Benefits of being an AAA member include receiving a 7% discount on your car insurance, but it also comes with a $57 annual membership dues.
